Special Education
- Special education or else special treatment, is the science that deals with the education of children/adolescents with special educational needs, aiming at their integration either in the school context or in individual learning programs.
It is based on the following elements:
- A thorough assessment that examines the child's skills, strengths and weaknesses that need improvement.
- Creating an individualized intervention program to strengthen the child's weaknesses.
- Use of appropriate teaching methods and differentiated teaching, depending on the needs, interests and learning profile of each child, in order to enhance learning and social skills.
- Ongoing progress assessment and program redesign, depending on the child's progress and goals.
- Direct communication and cooperation with parents to maximize results.
Address toddlers, children and adolescents who are experiencing:
- learning difficulties, general or specific (dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia)
- difficulties in organizing study.
- social adjustment and behavioral problems
- low mental potential
- attention deficit and/or hyperactivity disorder.
- developmental disorders (ADHD or various syndromes)
