Parental counselling

Parent counselling is a constant and consistent meeting between parents and a psychologist, which aims to recognize, accept and address their child's difficulties in various areas.

The main aim is to strengthen the role of the parent as a companion, so that he or she is able to help the child to grow emotionally, become autonomous and independent, to the extent that his or her difficulties allow.

It is through the parent that the child can be helped and supported in his or her efforts. As the child matures and changes, the family system needs to change along with it.

The work that is done is individualized, aimed at supporting specific carers with specific characteristics and needs so that they can support their role and through it their children. The ultimate aim is gradual self-support rather than reliance on the therapist.

Family counseling and support is essential to enhance a child's treatment programs.
